New-to-me vintage Cal. This thing feels like a tank, in a way that I’ve encountered on Vansons but never before on a vintage jacket.

The hide is stunning, but I’m still deciding whether this will be a catch and release or not. Might give it a conditioning (with some black tint where it’s actually scuffed–which I think is more like tackling rust spots on a classic car than removing patina) first, then see where I land.

The quality is undeniable, but it feels short even with my extremely high rise Buzz Rickson’s WWII khakis on. If it’s a catch-and-release, it’s going here, because I’m sure there’s a lounger who the length would be perfect on. Being over 6 feet and vintage can be a struggle even for high-waist wearers.

More pics to judge the fit would be good.
