True jacketjunkie. The jerky HH that I had a few years ago was soft and grainy as Mich described and mid weight for sure. Not stiff at all or waxy as CXL.

Was chatting with Ken the other day about grain, vintage hides etc.
Here’s a jerky A-2 he’s building now. Looks pretty darn good to me. Very reminiscent of 50’s era worn horse.

He did not. Only that he asked them for the “brainiest” hide. Which made me chuckle b/c it’s a good description.Did Ken happen to name the tannery they're sourcing this new Jerky HH from?

I know it's a vegetable tanned leather and I THINK it's sourced & made in the UK but I could be off on that one. I'm really not sure why don't they advertise it more, it's a stunningly beautiful hide. Pics don't do it justice like at all. My next Aero will be Jerky, whatever the style.
Lucky youI wanted my jacket to be made from this hide as well but he told me the the remaining hide had already been spoken for.

Damn man that is cool!! Where did you get that pic? That’s a “stock” model? I like that A LOT!
Yep, now that you say this I remember my jacket (October ‘19) was supposedly made out of the new stuff, which I was told was made to show wear faster. It’s a nice HH and I personally prefer it to CXL. Not lightweight at all but super easy wearing. I just can’t see how it can be vegetable tanned as it displays very different properties. Maybe the older version was.
Yup. Saw that. Went right to the gram with questions. That’s a really nice HB!
I think JL has the weirdest customers compare with other maker (asking funky design, unusual color combination, or request unusually heavy leather etc.....), it shows JL's capability to done any project customer wants.
Mission accomplished fellow enablers.Gotta hand it to the TFL, you did it again for me
custom order perhaps?Either someone did the best damn alteration I've ever seen or the jacket left Schott NCY factory that way.![]()

Hey @Jin431, here’s a thread you should probably read sooner than later:

Man, that's too much. . . But then again maybe later on in the year, still waiting on 5 jacket orders to be fulfilled. It’s not what, but when.![]()
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. looks great, how about trying to fold the edges inside as far as the shoulder gusset on the back, and see if looks better also to keep fraying liner in. if it looks better then just secure it with needle and thread on few spots probably on top of the shoulder hide it under the epauletteThe deed is done. What yall think? I don't dislike it myself.
