Schott 441PP collared café racer today. This has the zip out faux fleece liner. A warm jacket. Necessary today 4C minimum. Only a max of 16 the sunshine would belie that !

I would get the exact same comment whenever I'd wear a regular jackets like that. I met my previous gf just when I got my second HWM and not a month later, when I replaced it because it was too big, she asked me what happened with the grandpa jacket.
It’s not like they don’t have a point. You could argue the whole vintage thing is about appropriating a grandpa look.

If she was referring to a half-belt, I would understand.
But this jacket has a fairly modern cut.
Problem is, I don’t think she’s entirely wrong. I think it’s the length. Most of my other jackets are a lot shorter than this one. Short jackets imo give off more of a punk/rock vibe. I seldom see other people wearing leather outside this forum. When I do it’s almost always metal heads or punks wearing cross zips or old guys wearing old jackets just like mine.

That looks like the same kind of goatskin used on the riders jacket you bought for me.
It has a really nice weight and feel, vintage swedish goatskin is awesome!
It is very similar to your jacket. Heavy and substantial yet supple and easy wearing. But the leather on your jacket is half a tier above this one imo, nicest goat I’ve ever seen.

99 here in Pasadena. The neighbors are lucky that I'm wearing any clothes at all, let alone a leather jacket!!
