What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Straight out of the box, only 5 minutes of wear to check the sizing.
The leather is i think my favourite up to date, i am pretty sure it is thicker than my previous 2 LW, and is loaded with grain and stretch marks, just what i like!
Fit is perfect, the change to the pattern came out great, fit pics still to come in a couple weeks once it is broken in.

That looks amazing! Love the grain and stretch marks on it!

I can also confirm that the pattern has much bigger influence than the weight of the leather or its stiffness.

I didn’t mean to express doubt in yours and Carlos840’s experience, both of your collections are much bigger and a lot more varied than mine are. You both have experience from a lot more jackets from a lot more makers than I have.

I was just adding my experience, it was pretty eye opening to realise this aspect.

You have stuff to wear 'em with, the kind of gear that doesn't make the hat stand out & it all looks balanced and cool. And the fedora works for you. I really like mariner's cap a lot but I just feel it'd look silly on me. I just can't jump in like that...

Can confirm.

LW is a very heavy jacket but I too can practically exist in it. And I would have if the summer didn't hit full force. 35C outside so leather jackets are all kicked back into the wardrobe.

My dreams and wishes of wearing a LW vest this summer has also turned into disappointment. I think I'll let go of it after all because this is annoying.

Some days it would go past 30C up to 33C and the jacket would be denim. at 16C like 2 years ago here, I felt the chill in my intestines, the husband of my aunt which is a dutch guy who live in asia for a long time also wore his hoodies while I visited them to watch MotoGP on tv. I think after you spent few years in steady temperature like tropical constant mid 20C you will lose adaptability to cold, and feel any minor change in temp a lot more.
to me 20C is chill fresh and 29C is warm borderline hot, anything bellow 20C is cold and anything above 30C is hot. and our houses here don't have any kind of insulation, so basically I can sleep in my room or outside in the garden with exactly the same temperature since our house has permanent ventilation on the window frame from the era before air conditioner, it is just providing some shade from direct sun heat and rain.

trying to break in bit by bit, i haven't put it in the sun for the last 3 days, just wearing it full day since saturday, only took it off to eat fried tofu with peanut sauce dish, im sure i would have stained it badly had i kept it on.

Not so much wearing at 30C and 75% humidity today, just a try-on & fit photos of a jacket and brand I have little experance with. This is a Fox Creek leather jacket Model Classic II that is a 46L. As photos show it's quite large on me, may work as a winter jacket, with the heavy, full lining that is removable. Very heavy, yet rather soft cowhide leather, weighs around 10.0 lbs. My Gibson & Barnes was made of a similar leather, and it never showed any break-in during the 7 years I owned it. This jacket has a very dipped back, antique brass YKK zippers, and 4 added zipper vents for riding purpose. I know the vents are there for practicial purposes but they are distracting overall if not on a bike. This has been a good chance to evaluate a brand/jacket I've heard about but not directly experanced.

Debating on keep or flip - leaning toward moving it along.

Fox Creek makes a pure bike jacket and IMO that's how they work best. You can wear it but it's a size or two too big on you. Front doesn't look bad but the back is too long. If it wasn't L, then maybe but as it stands...

Coincidentally, this is the only model of Fox Creek that I have tried on and I really liked it. But yeah, it's a riding jacket. Leather is very heavy and thick and it's the kind that looks new for a long time. It's not heavily coated which I like.

Eastman A-2 "Slender" House Jacket. A great summer jacket and a great A-2 if one is not too paranoid about historical accuracy.

Dug this one out after seeing the pictures of @Jaime´s beautiful new A-2 in the other thread. All credit for buying the jacket goes to him as he was more or less the only one posting pictures of the "Slender", and I really liked it.
