I honestly think that’s the best type III they’ve done yet.

It’s certainly the best one I’ve gotten from them. The denim has a nice feel right out of the box and the brown weft gives it a bit of character.

It’s a custom made, Mark nailed my fit and measurements. Altered the lapel shape to my spec, vintage Art Deco side buckles the best I’ve ever seen. Sunburst central pleats back and navy Harris Tweed lining

Have understood, thanks mate. Reg, you nailed that exciting vibe of 20s-30s really well. It does look like original Block Bilt indeed, it gives that unique attitude of that period of history, love it so much. To my taste it’s possibly the best realization of the whole idea. Sincerely congrats you with such nice purchase, well done! Mark did a great work. As usual. Man, now I want this jacket too)

I think they just erroneously assume everyone wears low rise jeans and likes longer jackets or are dumb enough not to understand that a jacket (most jackets) shouldn't cover your hips and rear. I think it's a good idea to have some longer options in stock, but not every single order. Order half stock length, half regular. Appease more segments of your market.

Buy direct instead and don't deal with Thurston. Personally, I think dealing directly with the maker yields far better results than using a middleman.

Quite honestly it is still too warm out for me to even pretend that jacket is warranted but you guys know how it is...
Went for a walk a little earlier this afternoon and said “hi” to a man I passed on the street, “nice outfit” he replied. Always nice to get a compliment from a stranger, I can only hope this jacket is a hit with the ladies as well.

Perfect example of how to do the (fill in regional disparagement) tuxedo.
Shades are different, fit is perfect. Boss.

Buy direct instead and don't deal with Thurston. Personally, I think dealing directly with the maker yields far better results than using a middleman.

As a general rule I would agree with you 100%. In the case of Thurston Brothers though I have to disagree because I have received great service from them over the years. If it were not for their fit jacket process I never would’ve had the confidence to throw down $1000.00 dollars on a jacket I’d never seen nor tried on in person.
I can see how what works for me might not be true for you though because of the customs and shipping duties that are assessed shipping jackets back-and-forth from Canada to the US.

Are you a taller gent? Because Thurston always seems to add a couple of inches length to all of their stock jackets which is a bit annoying for someone of slightly above average height 5'10" like myself. Otherwise there are a few jackets that I could have bought without hesitation from them.

This may be another reason that I like Thurston Brothers. At 6’1” their stock jacket measurements are usually perfect for me in terms of sleeve and body length. On the Aero sales page I almost always find the jackets a bit too short.

I agree El Marro. Thurston Bros insures a good fit and makes sure a new jacket is as ordered. They go the extra mile if need be.

Prior to TB, I'm pretty sure all of the taller folks looked daily at the Aero sales page in hope of finding longer length jackets. There really weren't many at the time. In the jacket world, being shorter than 6 feet is still much much more preferable due to the overwhelming majority of jackets, both old and new, being geared toward stock lengths. It does seem however, that in the past few years more options have been awarded to us taller folks.
