Wearing a Vanson Comet PLU-3 that I picked up here from jimmer_5.

I could not be more pleased with this jacket. I have owned three comp weight Vansons and this is the softest one by far. Has the same ****** proof feel of my other jackets but without the straitjacket sensation I associate with comp. weight leather. Thanks again to jimmer_5!

Thanks man! It's definitely not the new stuff as I believe the original owner had worn it for a couple years before putting it up for sale. I actually called Carrie at Thurston Bros. to ask her about the leather on this jacket because it was so unlike what I was used to. She told me that Comp. weight varies from batch to batch and some of the batches end up much softer than others. Very cool talking to her and hearing the perspective of someone who has handled hundreds, if not thousands, of Vanson jackets alone!

reissue to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Air Force.

It's my jacket of choice... weight a lot less than the Schott "One Star Perfecto".
