Here are some fit pics of the shinki j-100 for pics in the sense of how the jacket fits on day one I have to say Johnson for the win yet again to me it fits perfect it’s right there with the board racer from aero View attachment 716247 View attachment 716248 View attachment 716249 View attachment 716250

Love it. There is just that little edge on a perfectly fitting Cafe Racer. Hard to achieve perfection in so simple a pattern. You clearly have succeeded.
Also a good call on the leather. With such plain lines, those details count!

That's amazing Tom! the fit seems spot on and from what I've read here on the Lounge the quality of the RMC stuff seems top tier :) very nice!

Thanks much!

Yes, their stuff is good. Just know longer worth the European prices anymore. If you order from their London website, this comes to EUR 3.950 as per my check yesterday (tax/duties paid). This is ridiculous!

I am more than happy with the jacket relative to what I paid.
It’s still over a new Perfecto or Lightning, so I will review my impressions after wearing it for a while.

Yeah 3950€ seems rather crazy o_O

It's a scorcher outside today so canvas jacket it is! this example is from the Canadian Air Force :)

So this has landed on my doorstep just minutes ago.

RMC J-24, bought off the lounge. I have had that one on my radar for years now, but wasn´t at all willing to spend anywhere near what RMC is billing for a new one now (EUR 3.300 or USD 3.800).
I have spend some time discussing this jacket with owners, so I kind of knew (was able to make an educated guess) what to expect (thanks to @Canuck Panda, sadly MIA, for all the intel on size/fit and to @Kenan for a first hand look at his spectactular two-tone version).

This jacket is in like new condition, not even broken in. Condition is flawless and so is the craftmanship. The main zipper, fiddly as it may seem, runs like a dream, and thus works much better than expected after all the horror-stories in these parts.

Fit is surprisingly generous. I consider myself a 44 in all RMC jackets, but this clearly fits on the roomy side. It still works for me, especially when the times comes for the layering game.

You weren't kidding! They totally nailed it... perfection. The leather looks amazing too. What are your impressions of the leather? Congratulations on another amazing jacket!
It’s my first shinki jacket I have a few boots made from it my first impression are the leather is beautiful has lots of depth and character it’s not overwhelming in weight and that’s awesome lots of my jackets are robust what stands out the most to me is the smell it smells incredible and totally different from most leathers maybe it’s just me

That price point is why I didn’t even consider RMC and why I decided to go with the double helix innovator. I paid less than half for a brand new jacket including the removable collar and shipping to the US. From what I can tell, this jacket is on par with the higher end Japanese makers for a more palatable price. Since they actually partner with Nita Tannery, I’m guessing they get better pricing on their hides than some of the other manufacturers, but that’s just purely a guess.

Regardless, your jacket is an absolute stunner, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it for many many years! Glad you got a good price on it!

Incredible! I’ve seen that depth you’re talking about on some of the Rainbow Country Hercules jackets that have been posted here. Those images have spoiled my feelings on other jackets I own, leaving the envious! Can’t wait to see how your jacket breaks in for you.

I was reading from another thread that Double Helix’s stuff is made in China. The first two pages of the Double Helix’s main thread also discusses this China-made rumor. That could explain Double Helix’s price point.

I think, with the Schott, the LewisLeather, the C2 and this I have four aces up my sleeve (with sleeves too…). You don’t give that up lightly.

I will put up my Ni****ing Rider for sale eventually. I didn’t so far as the leather is so super nice but the RMC’s hide is very similar in temper with maybe a touch less heft.

Thank you. And yeah, this is a territory where it’s no longer about affordability but rather about what kind of person you want to be seen.
I really don’t want to justify wearing a EUR 4k jacket, when a Perfecto is EUR 1k and gets just as many compliments from the crowds (more if you take the super-shiny variants…).

Well said. I like the shiny variants of the Perfecto as well. I bet the depth and texture of the leather on the RMC is gorgeous in person!
