What Have You Acquired From Family?

My grandmother used to have a rather intriguing vase she kept on her dresser; as a child I always admired it. When she passed, my mother held onto it and now she gave it to me, as she's trying to rid the house of things she doesn't need. (She doesn't want the house filled with knickknacks when she and my father pass away down the road.)

I wish I knew more about it; it's got to be an antique. I'm just happy that I was able to acquire it without having my parents die to get it.

A Majolica pottery planter and stand. My wife had this in storage after her Mother passed, fearing that we might break it. We still might, but at least we get to enjoy it. Needs a plant ...

I still have this cannon built by my grandfather ~1916, shortly before he turned old enough to be drafted into WWI.
It‘s heavy & normally sits on my fireplace hearth.
