Sweeet! What a treat!

Uncle Sam invited me on a few cruises over the years. Living conditions weren't as comfortable as yours and no 80s party, either.

But the sea is the sea.

Looks beautiful. And happy new year to you.
Thanks Nathan. While it’s not my usual new year…. I’m happy to celebrate any and all

looking great in your homburg today!!

TGIF !! We finally made it to Friday...woo-hoo !! Today's pick is very similar to yesterday's. Royal Stetson in brown with Cavanaugh edge and black ribbon hatband. The tip liner was badly torn when it got to me so I removed it . The red lining really stands out from others in my collection.

Hi Timmy,
I was searching for mentions of Cavanaugh because I've got one coming to me from ebay. Turns out, your Stetson looks nearly identical to the pics in the listing (save for that snazzy red lining yours has). Do you know what year your hat is from?
Best I've been able to determine for mine would be '57-'61.
I'd be happy to hear any insights you could share on the similarity between your Stetson and my soon-to-arrive Cavanaugh. Thanks!

I was working on a big old Resistol with too tall a crown and a too big brim curl yesterday. I realized I already had three other old big tall, black westerns with brim curls, so I made a command decision and went a different direction. Flattened the curl out and trimmed the brim to 3" and reshaped the crown into a sort of Gambler configuration. Now the crown is under 5" tall. I like it better than a half acre of hat with a 6-3/4" crown.... much more wearable for daily running around.

That gambler crown turned out great, Rick! Really sharp belt-style band treatment, too. Congrats

Fantastic homburg, Don! That's the way to go.
Fresh out the box late 40s/early 50s spiral stitched brim Royal Stetson heather.
Needs some TLC and a liner. Think I have just the right one. View attachment 732443 View attachment 732444 View attachment 732445
A beauty, Randall! Great heather felt.
Looking good with that jacket combination, Steve.

Back at the office this week.. this ancient Borsalino grabbed some compliments in a mostly orthodox office seemed like a good choice to start the new year.

End the week with this 1950s Mallory.

That Borsalino deserves all the praise it gets, and you for saving it. The Mallory is a looker as well!

Looking good Joe, black hats rule today. My Susquehana was worn at Tina's request. I took my lady out for a meal at a restaurant where 1930's style crooner, Simon Lane was entertaining us.

In praise of the black hat! Wel done, Robert!

Welcome back, Stefan.

Great hats and some super meals. Looks like you had a well deserved good time in Madeira.

Good of you to pick up the slack. Various circumstances have meant I haven’t been particularly active here of late, but I do try to catch up regularly. The Borsalino Homburg for me this week, followed by the Marathon. The food looks pretty spectacular, too.

Sunday morning greetings.... Seemed like a good day for a Campdraft Deluxe. This one in Cedar Brown. Its always been a bit curious as its crown is about 1/2 taller than my other Campdraft Imperials. Dont know if Akubra made the Deluxe taller than others or if its just an oddity, but it is what it is! Feels a bit tall but Im getting used to it after a few months
