Hauled out a nice little Royal Stetson from Marshall Fields this morning. Nice medium grey with a BackBow. Still has the original $10.95 price tag inside. Beautifully soft felt... definately no stiffiner in this one. 2-1/8" brim, 5" crown

Now, that's a simple hat that just does it for me, Rick.

Great proportions with a back bow and wide ribbon. Love it!

I picked up a nice little Akubra Boomerang a while back, but it had a bit more brim curling than I like.....

SO this morning I fired up the steamer and decided to do a bit of brim flattening. So here we go a slightly less curvy Boomerang. Think I like it better now. Give me a bit better sun coverage.

So a few weeks ago I received this Mallory with indeterminate staining all over the crown and under the brim. I figured I'd take a flyer on it, because if it could be cleaned up, I'd have a great knock-about hat in a light color felt (which I do not have many of).

Here is the before:

After multiple baths and various cleaning solutions, I now have this that I am wearing today.

So far, I am pleased with my efforts, but I'll probably keep playing around with it.

Its always a good feeling to get shed of splatters, spot, and stains and give an old hat a new lease on life... even if its just destined for fishing and yardwork lol

Mr Moose got to go for a good ride today ( Hes been a good paitent and I dont want him to get the idea that every time we go for a ride he ends up ad the vet lol) Visited his buddies at the antique shop ( they just moved everything into a new bigger building... I hadnt seen it myself either) Good time had by all and tail wagged the whole time. Since I was in shorts and a t shirt I just grabbed a ball cap..... but at least it was an Orvis Chocolate Lab hat!

Gotta go to the vet tomorrow for a post op check up. Hopefully they will have the pathology report back so we can get an idea of what we need to do next. Kinda of hoping they leave the staples in for another week.... I hate to get them removed and have that 8" incision open up (wish us luck)

Didnt seem interested in hanging his head out the window ( too hot) Rides are a good thing! All in all a really good day
