1910 E. A. Mallory today. I bought it from Bob Hufford, who sold a similar No. 1 Quality Stetson last week. I was about to go overboard on the bidding for it (I really liked it) when I remembered I had this Mallory. I got it out of the safe, put it on, and decided I liked it better, so I regretted even my smaller bid. Fortunately, someone else won it. Sigh..... if only time travel were a thing lol..... A while back I found an old 1956 Houston Chronicle newspaper ad from Battlestiens Dept Store.... Hat Department Sale for all Stetson, Dobbs, Stevens, and Borsalino hats. All $20 hats were marked down to $12. $10 hats down to $6. Didnt get to keep the ad because the other side was a full page ad for the new 1956 Cadillac El Dorado and a coffee buddy spoke for it first.

I wanted to wear one of my new ties today, and the Portis just felt like a good match.
I love these vintage ties. Especially the hand painted ones.

I guess I've always been that guy from the insurance commercial that's "becoming their parent", because I love talking to random people when I'm out and about (it drives my family crazy). The only thing that can match a fedora as a conversation starter, is a nice painted silk tie.

It has generally been a little warm for felts lately but it was a little cooler for our evening walk so I wore my Shudde Bros 3x.

Lots of straws and hemps lately but you all have seen them before, if I come up with a cool picture spot I'll take some pictures.
