This poor forlorn Hemp Open Road in Sage green was languishing in a Goodwill store in Nevada. I felt bad for it and am bringing it home for a bit of cleanup... Should be here tomorrow. Never did any serious work with woven hemp, so it will be a learning experience. I know from a half dozen other Hemp Stratoliners and ORs, that they do seem to respond well to steam... We shall see. Worst comes to worst, it was cheap and can always be a good lawnmower hat

At least Ive got my Butterscotch looking hemp Open Road to help as a guide for reshaping. ( no tag inside so not sure of real color name... maybe Coniac?)

That one sure seems to have seen its share of the elements. I have no doubt you will fix it up nicely.

Another one for the Top Hat collection. More importantly for me, it's a Danish hatter to add to the collection.

Ah, well, I suppose we've all got something to nerd in :)

I'm actually off to Aarhus tomorrow, so I'll pay a visit to that address even though I know what it looks like now.
Very cool. And no worries.. I’m about to post my “nerd on” item in post new hats. LOL

I love the Sage green hemps with brown ribbon binding... it just looks right. My sage green hemp Stratoliner is one of my favorite summer hats... Now it has a companion...Fed ex shows it out for delivery today!

Disney with the Mr Disney liner. It's also apparently called the Mr Disney Model, since Mr Disney is on the front of the sweatband, but I might be wrong.

We're safe then! Hope you get a good'n!
I really appreciate y'all filling me in to be on the lookout for a Art Fawcett VS. Last night this one popped up in my ebay saved searches & I made an offer that was accepted almost immediately !!
* sorry fellas...this one was listed as a 7-1/8 but it should fit me fine & I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Spectacular hat! Based upon the feedback I got from my initial postings, there are a lot of folks now on the lookout for these. Glad it went to a fellow FL'er.

Eeps, that's rough. Looks like it was used hard by someone with an inability to distinguish a hat from a cushion. I have the direct Stratoliner equivalent - those have a fair body to them to start with (I've heard the OR is stiffer again when new?).

Be interested to see how you got on with it!

No new fedora on my immediate horizon (though I'm hopeful I'll be looking at something new in a month or two), but currently waiting for a couple of caps to arrive from Etsy. One a brown herringbone stripe eight panel, the other a Bond cap style, in navy wool with two small 'go-faster' stripes on the bill. The maker (in Portugal) has dubbed it the Shelby model, as a tribute to Carrol Shelby's AC Cobra's blue with white stripe livery. The cap itself is more of a 20s / 30s design so the Cobra is of a different era entirely... I rather like this anachronism as it feels fitting with my own adoption of an earlier style in the modern world.
