Have you tried any Two Stacks Irish Whiskey? They do some interesting barrel aging options. There's one that they aged in ex Bourbon then sherry barrels that I thought was real tasty, particularly at the price point.I don‘t have a picture of it, but after watching Peaky Blinders I was in the mood for an Irish whiskey, and got in a bottle of Drumshanbo Single Pot Still. Have only had a couple of samples of this, but it’s very enjoyable, with a creamy mouth feel and a subtle sherry and toffee sweetness in the aftertaste. Makes a nice change.
I haven’t tried any Two Stacks, no - honestly, I hadn‘t heard of it before so thanks for the tip @Bigsbycallaghan. Will keep an eye out for it! Supplies can be somewhat limited at this latitude, but you never know.
Ooooh, yeah. NZ is a bit of a haul for Irish whiskey to travel. We visited one of my good friends in Whangarei about 10 years ago and I remember a lot of white wine and Double Brown beer
