Wow, I'm curious to know if you have documented it in any way to the WWI era? I have a Dunhill with the Vernon fitting & stinger patented in 1931 & discontinued ~1941.

Wow, I'm curious to know if you have documented it in any way to the WWI era?

The Ol' Man told me some Brit gave it to him at Belleau Wood; knowing him he probably won it shooting ****s. The gentleman I spoke with at Dunhill back in '03 told me the white dot on the stem post-dated 1915, the stamp ("DUNHILL" over "DUKE ST SW") dated it prior to 1918.

Eric Paulson makes to exact scale the Devil Anse pipe as smoked by Kevin Costner in the mini series. I had Eric add a faux ivory joint ring when I had mine made.

Was in Italy not long ago and picked up a box of Toscano cigars. Ridiculously inexpensive (under 10 Euros for five). Was surprised to learn that they come with a bit of history. Produced since 1818, they are made from Kentucky Tobacco that is grown in Italy. They are the cheroots that Clint Eastwood chewed on in his Spaghetti Westerns. Nice, even smoke. Flavor is on the rough side, but not unpleasantly so. Perfect for an evening with a glass of grappa, watching the swallows.
