Nick, you are becoming more English than the English!
It seems like a lot of the pictures here lately have had an English/European slant. All the flat caps!
There's a reason. More and more, the most active and enthusiastic Loungers in the (non-hat, non-leather) menswear threads are not American: they're European and Australian. By and large, the American Loungers have left, or they just stay quieter.
I feel like there's definitely been a shift away here from the Hollywood Bold Look to earlier prewar clothing.
Actually, I've been dressing more post-Bold Look, but it is true that the posts on this thread have greatly reflected the pre-war look.

See, I was *golfing* all afternoon (and it was a cold day) at the Riviera Country Club, which is owned by the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Then, I popped over at the Athletic Club for some drinks and a spot of gaming: http://adsla.org/info/content/february-18-casino-moderne

Ditto! I've really gotten into the mid to late 50s "Mr T" look lately. I'm thinking since the latest trend in fashion (see RRL) is geared more towards the prewar look, people are naturally gravitating towards the heavy wools and tweeds.
