they're 40mm, though the lens isn't perfectly round. it's actually 40mm wide and 38mm high.

(the luxury, no holds barred version of this style is C W Dixey's 'Chartwell 01' at a slightly more eye-watering £380)

As noted above, yes it is. Depending on where the seems are, it will either be taken in from the sides or the back seem(s), but not a particularly difficult alteration for a decent tailor.
