Hello,

Have in account that if you send something to a person who does not have the same font installed, the fancy font will show as a default font.

BTW, I have downloaded and installed some of the suggested fonts, and all work, except one. It is installed, it appears in the tool bar, amd I can select it, but the moment I write, it goes back to a default font. I use Windows 7. Any idea whi does this happen?

Torpedo, I have experienced this myself. In order for a computer to recognize a font, it must be installed on the machine, regardless of the machine it was sent from. Think of it like this: I can speak French to you, but if you dont know French, youre not gonna understand it. The difference, though, is that the receiving computer can change into something it can understand, which is its programmed default font.

Torpedo, I have experienced this myself. In order for a computer to recognize a font, it must be installed on the machine, regardless of the machine it was sent from. Think of it like this: I can speak French to you, but if you dont know French, youre not gonna understand it. The difference, though, is that the receiving computer can change into something it can understand, which is its programmed default font.

Depending on what software you're using, you can convert the fonts to outlines or create a PDF file with the fonts embedded. I am no fan of stuff like Word and Powerpoint - the basic standard fonts used on all machines are there because everyone wants to send each other Office documents.

There are only a limited number of Web safe fonts which is the same thing - fonts that will appear on every computer but there are always ways around this.

dafont is great.

House Industries is king when it comes to vintage typefaces. Lots of great brush faces as well.

I'd recommend you take a look at Neutra, about as Art Deco as you can get.

I had found my favorite vintage font when I was collecting pins on Pinterest for my style ideas. The one I like is Raleigh Gothic Condensed from 1934. I take to this font in particular due to its minimalist and masculine design. It's what I have been using to make labels for my oil blends and other things.
