I just called Vanson and the person I spoke to said they were looking to have more Granite Roma by the end of the year. Also super helpful about answering questions about sizing as well. Lesson learned, the telephone will be my sole point of contact with Vanson going forward.

They actually have a size 46 Maverick in Granite Roma in stock if anyone is interested.

I agree. I had good results speaking with them on the phone. Then once I established a relationship with Anthony, email worked pretty well for certain situations. Great people and great company!

I’ll do a proper write up and post better pics soon, but I have to share my initial excitement that my custom Chopper made of Cedar Bainbridge arrived today and it’s perfect.

That looks amazing! Perfect fit too! How does the leather feel?
I really like the leather. It’s smooth and somewhat shiny but I think this will dull with time. I wouldn’t complain if it was a bit thicker, but it doesn’t need any breaking in, which is nice (I’ve had plenty of long break-ins and don’t mind a change of pace).
Most importantly, I think this leather will develop character quite quickly. I already put some miles on the jacket today, and it’s very comfortable on the bike.

Fit is spot on and I have to say the cedar looks far better than the maple I posted on page one. Now if only Vanson would start a line of East West repro’s. LOL.

I should add some pics of my granite maverick. I’ve worn it quite a bit in spite of the warm weather and it’s proven to be one of the best Vanson’s I’ve owned to date in terms of wearability. Vanson seems to be about the last hold out for a really nice custom piece that won’t set you into a stratosphere of wasted $.

I’d like to see the granite maverick.

This is an amazing new leather from Vanson. About time they give you other choices than black.
I agree. Though this one is exclusively available through Thurston Bros. I believe Vanson also has some non-black choices available if you go custom through them, but not on their stock page.

What's so cool about Vanson is all the collabs they do. Some really great stuff out there with Left Field, Butterscotch, Askan, etc. WOW!!

Just bought my first vanson (have had others but this is the first one I’m keeping, others never fit right).

Does anyone know what model this is? It came with armour but I took it out for casual wearing.

Also the leather is stunning. Is this the old comp weight? IMG_2334.jpeg IMG_2335.jpeg

I don’t know what model it is, but I really like it. I’m a sucker for those shoulder and elbow details.

Congrats on a great find!

The keychain fob should have some ID number. Or inside one of the inside pockets. You can contact Vanson with that detail and they will be able to tell you what kind of leather is it, when it was made and for which business.

This said, it does look like Competition Weight to me.
