Vanson Streamliner Sizing

Hello to all - this is my first post!

I recently bought an XL Vanson Drifter jacket (perforated) and am considering a Streamliner for it. I use the jacket for its intended purpose - on my motorcycle - and would like to extend its usability to early spring and late fall.

My question is regarding which size to buy. The jacket is an XL which is roughly a US size 50. Should I go with a size 50 liner or size down to a 48 to reduce a little bulk (I fit into a standard US 48)?

I’m sure that I’m overthinking this but am interested in the opinions of those who have experience with this liner. Thanks in advance!

I got a 44 Enfield, L Chopper and 44 Highwayman and a 46 streamliner vest that fits well with all of them. So if going one size up is fine and is not that bulky, I would say staying in the same size would too.

Thank you for the reply! I’ll probably stick with a 50 then.

I've had a Streamliner and used it in a Vanson B. I have observations on that liner vest and eventually gave it away. They were:

- Orange seemed an odd choice of color for the interior of a leather jacket and

- Cold weather makes for a stiff jacket. The liner won't help that and

- It takes up a lot of available interior space.

If you're approaching maximum density for that jacket's size then it won't work. You'll need to be able to wiggle around inside that jacket a bit in order to fit a Streamliner. If you don't have plenty of room to wiggle, you probably can't comfortably fit a Streamliner. My thought was that it was more important to consider fitment between jacket and rider than to consider which liner might fit the vest. I also think it may be an anomaly that a 46 liner might fit a 44 jacket. Might want to check w/ Vanson to see what they say as a 46/46 fit so accurately that it left me w/ the impression that the liners were size matched to their specific jacket counterpart.

I gave mine away because I didn't have much wiggle room at the time.
