If you look at her IMDb profile, you'll not find many credits. Why didn't she ever get work from, say, Joe Dante or Tim Burton??

I would've loved to have been around when she -- or any other ghoul -- was hosting horror movies on TV. There was a level of fun back then that is sorely missed.

When I was a kid in St. Louis, we had "Chiller Theater" (I think that was the name) that showed horror movies but there was no host. They at least bothered having a scary announcer, though. Good times!

I second that Doh!. The closest thing I remember to Vampira on TV growing up was Joe Bob Briggs Monstervision on TNT. May she rest in peace.

The world has really lost a truly unique icon with her passing. I have a '50s pin-up magazine with a great Vampira article, and one could tell just from reading it that she was obviously a very witty and intelligent lady. RIP indeed.
