Thrifted my first sport coat. Can anyone comment on the fit?

the jacket looks 2 sizes too big on you. The sleeve length and back length are good, but the shoulder is too wide (2 sizes too big), and chest is a bit baggy (1 size too big). It makes the jacket dropped like a non-flattering V shaped.

I thought the sleeve was too short. If the body is too big I may take it in. How’s the length?

Nah, the sleeve’s length is fine, or arguably, just half an inch short. You’d want to show 1/3 of the cuff of the shirt with the jacket.

The jacket’s length is fine because if you cusp your hand facing downward, it’s where the jacket length is at.

For the perfect shoulder, you’d want your shoulder bone to point exactly where the jacket’s shoulder seam is at. That’s not where this jacket’s shoulder seam is. This jacket makes you look like you’re wearing a football player’s shoulder pads.

You can’t alter a jacket’s shoulder or pit to pit without taking it apart and reconstructing an entirely new jacket. The rest of the measurements you can alter. This jacket doesn’t fit you, you’d want to sell it.
