The original care instructions for your vintage fedora.

Hi FL Folks

I am just wondering. How many among us on the lounge actually have any of the original care instructions that came along with your now vintage hat when that hat was not vintage and not yours.

I would think having the care instructions would increase the hats value?

With the internet, we can acquire answers to just about anything, so I am guessing we could simply google or research to see the care instructions however I am asking if anyone actually possesses the original care instructions for that great fedora you have in your closet or on your head.

I go first, I do not have any care instructions for any of my 10 fedoras...

I have all the original inserts with this Golden Pilgrim from Sears.
I don't know about "increase the hat's value" but it is neat to me to have.
This at was NIB, NOS, pristine, etc.

When I bought my first "real hat" way back in 1969, no literature of any kind came with the purchase, sorry to say,

as it would be still in the hatbox which I have retained. (Knox, black Homburg.)

As far as an increase in value re care, instructions, etc, I feel that for me, it would increase the hat's value as would an original box,

but from a seller's point of view it would probably be minimal especially if they were not a dealer who knew "value".

So why don't I have my original reciept? - We were on a monthly charge account. (LOL)

What ever comes with a hat, would always help for a collector or someone that is looking for that to be included. Box, receipts, whatever it is. I would agree it adds to a value of the hat.
