Yes, definately,.....
People are larger overall now than they were in the past. It's the same situation with WW2 uniform clothing as it is with vintage civilian clothing. I just read,....( I think it was at Flightsuits website) that the average American male was about 5'8" and I think 140 pounds in the 1930's. So there were I suppose, fewer pieces made in larger sizes? [huh] Great for those that can wear those sizes, but for someone like me,.....

Funnily enough the average american male height has only increased by about an inch over the measurement given by the Major (the most recent i've seen is 5' 9 1/8"). And apparently average height is dropping as people become wiser about the growth hormones they take in with their food. And also immigration from countries with lower average heights.

We've only grown an inch?
I coulda swore we were bigger than that. Just by observing the people at the grocery store. But I think maybe my perception is skewed. Maybe the larger people are just more noticable. [huh]

My brother's Philipino in laws are shorter than their kids by a whole bunch! I declare it's PIZZA POWER! All kids grow taller once introduced to good pizza!
