I recently purchased a Borsalino with the same kind of white sticker and price tag of $22.00 in a Rogers and Peet hat box. I think the sticker indicates ~1961-65. It’s the nicest felt I have ever handled. Pictures above from previous post I am responding to.

Some in Japan have been buying up hats (especially vintage) and reselling. They have tremendous markups on prices. I wonder if any sell at those prices?

The brim edge seems to be similar to that of the Stetson Mode Edge style, or a kind of pressed felt.
There is a number ‘33489’, but the paper was brittle so hard to photograph.
Original receipt : purchased on 10 October 1963
That Borsalino selling for $59 in 1963 is equivalent to $505 today when you factor in inflation. That seems way too high, right, for 1963? I thought the range would be around $22.00. Anyone know what prices Borsalinos sold for back in 1963? Amazing.

Many of these Borsalinos are normal and commonly found on the Italian or European market, others are slightly more significant, but nothing special. Some, in the end, seem to me to be assemblies, or more hats combined in one, but that's just an opinion

You pull off the style like nobody's business! Remember, there's no going back now!I can now say I'm a proud owner of a Borsalino hat. Fished out of the Bay of E, the seller listed it as a 1980s model:
Very dark brown with a crown "ribbon" with a coarse weave and multiple colors giving the appearance of "wear and tear" without being torn. The brim is 1-3/4" wide, and I'd guess this hat was worn with the front of the brim snapped down a lot because the flange in front is shallower than in the back. The sweatband could probably use a little moisturizing, and it came without a liner. It was creased backwards, so I corrected that and gave it a Teardrop crease:
The next image is three photos, one a close-up of the "ribbon" showing it's coarse weave and multiple colors, a shot of the very worn and difficult to read logo on the sweatband, and the paper label under the sweatband with my notations of the markings:
Except for recognizing the name I know very little about Borsalino hats so I'd be interested in any information any of you might have to offer. Or not. This hat became a favorite the moment I saw it in-person, and the felt is in remarkably good condition; I'm very pleased that it actually fits my head!
Congrats on the hats. Good looking hats both. The dating of the labels is far from an exact science, but it's the best we've got so far from the hats that do have dates on them, which is a rarity. I've looked at the labels we call the cerrated roll labels again and adjusted the time-period somewhat, because a more recent example showed up last week. Here they all are:
