How much of a laugh did you and your friend have from that unsolicited and well thought out contribution? Not so long ago I was in bar with a friend, talking about some of my favorite movies which happen to be B&W. Some kid that was at the same table kept looking at me and at some point could no longer restrain himself. He leaned forward and exclaimed, rather excidedly, that it has to be the most stupid thing in the whole wide world to watch old B&W (and sometimes even silent) films if you can have modern movies with bright colors, booming surround sound and cool CG effetcs - and all that in 3D! That's the whole point about watching movies, he said...

George Valentin's movie persona is 90% Douglas Fairbanks and 10% Martin Crane from "Frasier."If they don't give the dog a rubber chew-Oscar, the whole thing's a racket.

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Thanking Douglas Fairbanks was a classy touch. Maybe it'll inspire a revival of his films.
