Haha, I do agree that it looks a little freakish myself..

I did a little search in the Canadian publications trying to find early examples of the late teens / early twenties jazzy youth's styles and found these two interesting ones:

^...and some people think high gorges are a modern invention. and wide lapels began in the 70s.

I saw a very similar American made tuxedo jacket today, with the same very deep 'V' and one button closure. Pity the rest of the suit wasn't with it.

It's in quite poor condition, especially the trousers, but I think that I can get it into wearable condition.

It sold 3 times before you got it. Someone was messing with the auction and never paying.
I would have picked it up as a study piece but I acquired another couple pieces
