For me, those are about as nice as ties can get. Absolutely lovely.

Man, don't get me depressed...Just give me a time machine for one day, and about $1000 in 1940 currency.

$3.50 would get you a top of the line one. But you have to wonder what the stars were wearing. Was Rodeo Drive around back then?
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Gee, Baron, that one looks familiar...

Well, I think you are right. I confused some things here. The back of the label reads "Trademark Reg. Resilient U.S. Patent 1447090". The patent is from 1922.
I confused the "Trademark Reg." with the (R) in Circle, which was AFAIK introduced 1947. This isn't the case here though.
