Ha ha ha....I'll try and keep a foot in both camps!.....I think it's the wishy washy handpainted ones I don't like probably the same reason why I don't like watercolour paintings but like oils and prints!

It also occurs to me that there ought to be a California Ties of Distinction Club as many of the bold era ties were made here. A far cry from the junk art we see made here today of Che on velvet. :doh:

Hello Ladies and Gents,

jamespowers - Very nice. The one on the right reminds me of a chocolate ice-cream with a waffle cone.

Here are some of my more recent finds:

Silk unlined 'Sirodair' in brown, silver and red.


'Grenville' - my perfect kind of tie, in my favourite colour.


'Soie' made in France. With electric lining! I'm thinking 1960s, but in a classic shape.


A bit of a strange 'Vivax' in silk.


A 1920s (I'd bet) very short black and white knitted silk with the label 'Art Silk'.


A plain black tie, but I like the label - 'Mark Wayne Exclusive 2000'.


And a horse-motif Tootal 'Green Quality' in banana yellow and red. The highlight of the crowd!
