Except for the modern cars, this photo reminds me of my first trip to Chicago after my wife and I married in 1981. One of her cousins was kind enough to give us a tour of the downtown area, and he found a side street similar to this one that was nearly deserted (so we could walk around a bit). Big city, elevated train tracks, few people or cars--I had to remind myself it was the real deal and not a set on a back lot I'd seen in movies. For various reasons Chicago has always been a wonderful place to visit for me, and I thank you for sharing this photo with us; makes me want to hop a plane and fly east.
