True, sir, but the bridge isn't named for its color, but rather for the strait it spans, from the SF Peninsula, to the Marin headlands, named as The Golden Gate by John Fremont in his memoirs of 1846.Those in control of such things still call The Golden Gate Bridge "golden" even though the primer they paint onto it to protect it from the corrosive sea air is most definitely not "golden':

Spent a Christmas and New Years in Barcelona and Madrid many years ago. Loved it! Stayed with my ex girlfriend’s Spaniard friends. The food, the people, the sights, was wonderful.
