The Baybrook Court Bridge, spanning the Boise River along the Greenbelt, near the Warm Springs Golf Course. For reasons unknowable (gross ignorance?) this orange structure is referred to colloquially as the Red Bridge.

The Boise Greenbelt 9-11 Memorial is a 10’ steel beam from the WTC, and a wall engraved with the name, vehicle assignment or call-sign, and age, of every fire responder who perished that day. It’s one of the most sobering experiences imaginable, to stand before it.

Those in control of such things still call The Golden Gate Bridge "golden" even though the primer they paint onto it to protect it from the corrosive sea air is most definitely not "golden':

True, sir, but the bridge isn't named for its color, but rather for the strait it spans, from the SF Peninsula, to the Marin headlands, named as The Golden Gate by John Fremont in his memoirs of 1846.

Yes, but most people don't know that. They hear "Golden Gate Bridge", they expect to see a bridge that's gold in color. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Human nature, I suppose.

Spent a Christmas and New Years in Barcelona and Madrid many years ago. Loved it! Stayed with my ex girlfriend’s Spaniard friends. The food, the people, the sights, was wonderful. Such a beautiful country.
:D
