No wonder you have problems holding the curls then. Pin curls may be a bit hard for you, but I have a friend with as long hair as yours who makes rag curls with great success.

I have been playing around with Tatum's tutorial and though I haven't got the prefect grasp on her faux rolls, I'm slowly getting there. here is a not very good picture of my birthday hair. Three victory rolls and one faux roll in the front.

Here's my first attempt at victory rolls. I can't believe how much hairspray I needed and my arms are killing me! Also, I can't decide whether I love the 'do or I look like Gary Oldman in Dracula Compare & contrast

Lolly, I laughed at the Gary Oldman joke. From the picture it looks like you need to do more teasing. Are you doing any at all? Either way, tease the base up to where the hair is about to curl around and then smooth out with a comb on top afterward. I've had success with breaking it into two sections so I make sure the front is sturdy and plenty teased also.
You look cute though so don't worry

Thanks for the tip NancyLouise, my hair is so thick I thought I could get away without teasing it, but I will try that next time (if I can ever wash all this hairspray out of my hair!).
