No! But I'm glad you posted this. LizzieMaine and I were out antiquing today and saw an apron that got me thinking (meaning trolling on ebay for a cute number). I would love to see some pics, too!

I have a few 1930s-50s aprons--I really enjoy wearing them :)

My favorite looks exactly like this pattern (the heart-shaped one), and is made in salmon pink cotton with white crocheted trim. The pattern is copyrighted 1943:

Jitterbugdoll, my favorite apron is very similar to your pattern -- not quite identical, but pretty darn close!

I found it on the 'Bay a while ago and just had to have it -- the color and pattern go perfectly with my kitchen!

Adorable!

LM,

You look terrific! What a sunshiney apron--perfect. I love the heart-shaped. I've always favored the full aprons anyway, as they seem to provide better coverage as far as actually protecting clothing.

Cute apron, LizzieMaine! I love the soft cotton ones like that. So many of the chef's aprons they have out these days are so heavy and thick and stiff--like canvas. The older ones are so, so...embraceable!

I made mine from a repro pattern -- Butterick or some mainstream company, can't remember anymore. I made the purple bias binding myself. What a PAIN! :)

Wow that is a lot of helpful info, and I love the aprons from the first link. The last link is great and I will bookmark it. I didn't realize some aprons were made from hankies! Thanks for the links!

Yay! Now, what is the first thing you plan to cook or bake? Although maybe it is too pretty for practical use! ;)

Jessica

I promised myself I would actually use it! :) I will wear it for the first time tonight after I launder it today. I am making apron-worthy pasta and tomato sauce. I also plan to wear it- with pearls!- when I do my household chores this weekend. :D

I would love to have a picture taken, but only if I had a cool vintage vac! But I'll see what I can do. ;)
