I LOOOOVE 1958!!!

Ok, here is the pattern, from 1958:

And now here is the DRESS I made today!!! I am so happy! I put my crinoline under it to show the fullness, and it looks fabulous both on Mavis (my dress form) and me too!! I am very proud of myself because I have a tendency to rush through things, and this time I took my time and really paid attention. I still have to put the hem in it tomorrow, but it is a-going to the Mansion tomorrow night for dancing!! There are little tiny hearts scattered amongst the bows. I bought the fabric last Valentine's Day, can you tell?

God, I love the fashions of the late 50s. You could have hips from hell and nobody ever needed to know!

It's new-I bought it at Hancock while they were going out of business. I decided I am going to make this dress again this year-I just love the pattern, and it was really easy!

Just finished this skirt. I've watched every single alpha dress soar way beyond my means on eBay and if you know me at all you know why I need alpha.

Anyway, I made this too big because I didn't want it way up on my natural waist but after a couple adjustments it fits better. And hooray for looking skinny in that photo!

And no Nikki I got it here. It was my first. It's actually Chinese (but our Japan tour guide last year was able to read it). The top character is loyalty and the bottom is hope. Two of my best characteristics.
