Light weight and comfortable, but their popularity has sure increased the price--I got mine when they were only $19.99.

Seems I have seen a few images of Mr. Thompson wearing this hat.
For some reason I just don’t get Gonzo and Tilley. He sort of makes it a cool hat.....almost. I’m so confused!

This photo isn't of someone famous, outside of our family anyway. But I didn't know where to post this so thought this was good enough. This is a photo of my father-in-law in the 1930's sporting his old 1927 Model T Ford, saddle, bedroll, and a great Western hat. He was a working cowboy in the Nebraska Sandhills for about 50 years. I love this photo. He was a good man.

After years of denial, my brother finally came across the original to an old family pic of my grandfather in a hat. Serious tilt, wide ribbon, asymmetrical "wonky" brim and what looks like a gambler or pork pie crown treatment. This is probably taken in the late 1910s - 1920s.

Dad with his parents. Later years... '60s? Can't see what hat Grandpa has in his hand there. He always wore a hat. I only remember 2 different fur felt hats. My Dad had a Booney hat and ball caps; that's it.
