My man has a gorgeous vintage 40's suit..but to finish the look when he's jacketless he needs some of those arm garters that card dealers wear in casino's...my question is are they called arm garters and where can I get me some?

Sleeve Garters - Does anyone wear them?

Given that this is mostly a vintage clothing community (although thankfully, other aspects of vintage culture also discussed in great and ingrossing detail), I wanted to ask:

Do any of the men around here (or women, if applicable), wear sleeve-garters with their shirts or blouses?

My dad is constantly complaining that my sleeves are too long. Mum gave me a pair of sleeve-garters to wear with my dress-shirt, but now I think I'll wear these with all my shirts to adjust my sleeve-lengths accordingly. I think it'll be something that's going to grow on me. A lot. And will become a habit from now on.

I have thought about a pair because with short arms (and deep pockets) I have to have shirts taken up when the garters give a funky pool hall look to the shirt sleeves.
