Yes I think this is definitely an older jacket that was worn very gently, but definitely broken in,very supple and immaculate. Probably wore it watching tv like me :)

Morning Tom,a quick note to say that my recently bought 613 in a size 46 has a back length of 23.5in- 24in .certainly not 25.when it came i though I wouldn't gel because of that. But it's becoming one of my favourite jackets. The steerhide is fantastic, heavy but feels soft and very substantial, dyed all way through. Its a completely standard 46(labeled)very very comfortable with me now at 185lbs.
Hi Peter, any chance of getting the chest, shoulder and bottom hem measurements on your recent 613? We are about the same size so you are one of my go to reference guys on here. Thanks!

Chiming in to say that I am almost positive the standard 613 and 618 are the exact same pattern (they certainly fit the exact same in my experience in the store) with the only differences being the 613 has stars on the shoulder, no extra snaps on the collar for a fur attachment, and no Schott branding on the buttons/snaps.

But of course, the actual fit of those two models ebb and flow through the decades that you never know what you're gonna get when buying an older jacket!

pretty obvious from pictures the back kidney panel is a differnet size/shape......

From the Schott website , pictures of the back of the 613 38 and 618 38 on the same model. Looks very similar to me ! The 613 may seem a little tighter on the waist, it may be a slight difference when the jacket was handcut or sewn, or the position of the model, but to me these are similat fits. The back and the arms, shoulders are back are completely the same !

613 and 618 are exactly the same jacket except for some of the metal decorations.

No, are you perhaps confusing with the 613S/613SH (which is a slightly different pattern)?

Thank you. Yes, that was also my visual impression. Pretty much the same jacket...

Thanks. I had hoped you´d chime in. For me that pretty much settles it.

Im curious if any guys, with knowledge of schott dating, has any info on when the immaculate 613 i recently picked up was made based on the tab.the shorter back length than the current 613 indicates an older jacket, thanks Peter.

Schott forum used to have an explanation of this code but it's down now.

It might be copied somewhere on TFL. If it's not, just email them and they can tell you.

In 1993 Schott added this 10 digit code to this inner pocket tag. The 5th digit represents the year.

This would be 1996, 2006 or 2016. Doesn’t look to be from 2016 just from looking at this tag. I would need to see all the other details of the jacket to determine whether it’s 96’ or 06’.

Thank you for your input, it's appreciated. I think it's a jacket the could either have been part of a big collection or even a display jacket. Its hardly had a crease on it,but the measurements didn't match the latest 613.hence my curiosity. Regards Peter

Schott changed their cut a million times over the years. I own 30+ Schotts with many multiples of the same size, all from different eras. There are often sizing differences between jackets that are the same size with the same label produced in the same years. So I’m not surprised that a jacket produced in 1996 or 2006 wouldn’t have the same measurements as one you’d buy today.
