I have a borsalino hat and id like to switch the ribbon. I s there any specific sewing machine used to change ribbons? and whats the best technique?
You can find a photo montage in The Lounge but to my knowledge there is no video on ribbon/bow work in existence. My latest one I used petersham ribbon because you can iron a curve in so it doesn't need tacking. I'd love it if someone can share a ribbon video View attachment 350196
I hate Petersham and use only grosgrain woven edge. It 'swirls' very well (curves with the use of an iron). My latest one I used petersham ribbon because you can iron a curve in so it doesn't need tacking. I'd love it if someone can share a ribbon video View attachment 350196
I used grosgrain on another hat I struggled with it to be honest but everyone is differentI hate Petersham and use only grosgrain woven edge. It 'swirls' very well (curves with the use of an iron).
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. A firm even tension pulling the ribbon out from the stationary iron at an angle does it for me.I used grosgrain on another hat I struggled with it to be honest but everyone is different
