Today I got an old panama. The ribbon was dirt and ruined, then I replaced for a new black ribbon.

It may be a little too big which I kind of suspected so it's probably getting a trip back to Chicago so Graham can do his magic but we'll see. I'll wear it this weekend when I'm not traipsing around the So Cal mountains.

..... my newest Semi-Calado Montecristi Medio Fino from Robert !
We're STILL getting up in the upper 80's here in N.Texas so it will be on my head tommorrow It had to go to Gus @ Batsakes to get re-flanged (first pic before Gus's work) and now is in my house on my head! ( will do some steam work on the brim to get THAT Panama swoop to the snap ! (last two pics are from Robert of it as finished by Gus)

I took the new hats over to JJ Hat Center where they cleaned and worked haberdashery magic on them. In particular this stetson looks even more incredible with a telescoping crown, albeit a little Bonanza-looking.

I am still considering a change of the ribbon. I believe a wider ribbon is in order.

A great many nice looking hats today. :eusa_clap I never really took to Panamas with the perforations, but after seeing the two today, I’m beginning to change my mind. Too bad it's almost winter here!

As for the Semi-Calado Panamas, when the breeze blows thru the hat it's like a small AC in your hat !! My Montecristi is the second one of the Semi-Calado style I have but won't be the last for sure
