Portis Sterling

Landed this one from 'Bay trolling:

Really nice dense but lightweight felt. I couldn't get a good shot of the embossed "Swansback water repellant Cushion Band" embossing on the sweat.

2 1/2" bound brim, 1 1/4" grosgrain pug, 4 1/2" uncreased crown.

Velvet-Tex

Here is a Portis Velvet-Tex I found with an unusual brim stitching treatment. The ad is from 1948.

Hunter

Here is the Portis Hunter. Great ribbon and brim stitching on this one. Its from around 1938 based on the ad.

That Portis Hunter is really special(The Velvet-Tex too). Unusual details and it looks like new. They had some imaginative designers there.

Here is a nice old one with a raw brim edge and wide sweat. The color is spectacular. In different lighting its Royal Blue, blue purple, or blue grey. More of Portis' fine ribbon work on this one too. Also a great warranty card was hiding behind the sweat.

What a super hat! I love the way you have totally abandoned yourself to your hat addiction. If you lived in my place you would have to build tunnels through them to move.

This is really lovely, Buler! Portis always seems to have that extra twist to make each special. In this case, several twists!

Portis Two Tone

2-5/8"+ wide brim with bound edge to match crown. As creased 5" at front center 3-3/4" at rear. Thin and soft 2-1/8" unreeded sweatband. Navy and Medium Gray goes or clashes with anything.
