Very nice! Not a stamped silver case like most I've seen. This is a machined billet silver case. As much as I've heard about it is that it was likely an award issued by an advertising agency in Japan to its employees. Whatever the movement is it's hugely accurate and I've assumed it's a hybrid battery / mech design but I don't actually know for sure. View attachment 773099

Stunning!I have gotten the itch of carrying my pocket watches, again, lol....
I took this beautiful Waltham U.S.A., in a Hunter case, out of hibernation.

$300 would be a bargain today.Well, straight into the fire I have jumped. I put in a low-ball offer on this one based on very small spots of old, touched up rust on the mechanism, and the value posted on Pocket Watch Database, and the seller accepted my offer of less than $300!

If I had a little more patience I might have found a better bargain, but this watch checks all my boxes of what I'm looking for, is supposed to keep time well, and will need only servicing. If I understand what I've read correctly, even though it is not railroad grade, this is a decent grade of watch mechanically. I HATE shopping, although I love learning about things, so I'm anxious to see how this looks in person and am glad to be done looking. The more I look, the more I justify spending more money on something "just a little better" that I probably can't really tell the difference in anyway.
Thanks for all the information and feedback, I appreciate it very much!

Nice! Thanks Dave… I’ll go find that movie for sure!I believe the watch commemorates the film

It's a real beauty!!Today I am wearing:
Illinois Watch Company,17 jewel adjusted (files suggest Railroad grade), Lever set, Grade 79 Model 5, aprox. 1905. Wadsworth 25 year case. Chain is also gold filled. (Yes in addition to the arrowhead, it has a key fob as I do use it for my key wind I use it for too). This is a hand me down from my wife's side of the family.
