Here's a unique item I have in my hat shop--it is a 19th century spitoon in the form of a top hat. It is cast iron.

Here are pictures of some of my irons. The one picture shows my curling shackles and the other shows some of my heavy-weight irons and my long-handled brim irons. This is about half of my iron collection.

I have a question,back in the late 80s and early 90s there was a hatter in Springfield Mass. called "Nader the Hatter" is he still around? and what is his address? I lost contact with him.His first name was Bill. thanks for any help you can give.

Here's something interesting. It took a few minutes to figure out what these are, but I believe they are probably heels for tap shoes. I haven't looked the brand (Olympic) up yet. Anyone else seen this?

That's what they look like to me. Waaaaaaay back in the day, there was a trend to put those on the heels of our "toe capped stetson" shoes. The fashion would include wearing a pair of work pants, (workies), a colored silk tee shirt, black silk socks, and then topped off with a quarter length black leather jacket. If a fedora was worn with the get up, the brim would have to be turned up all the way around. The fashion could also include 8 panel caps and flat caps too. Very late 1960s into the early 1970s...so I've seen in old photos, that is.

Every style shoe like this was referred to as a "toe capped stetson" back in the day, whether it was a Stetson or not:
