When was the moustache in vogue?

I suppose it also had a lot to do with region, social status and probably nationality???

During the 1920s through the 1940s facial hair was just much less common than today as a fashion. I would say moustache would be one of the most common forms of facial hair, but being clean shaven would probably be the most period correct.
