Been waiting a long time to post in this thread.

I have to get better shots of this, maybe outside to capture it's true color.

The only other thing I wish it had were a wind trolley. Any idea as to it's age?

Did all the Stetson *******s have the word ******* somewhere on the hat???

I got this one about a month ago and until reading this thread today I had no clue.

I agree with the one gentleman who said it is so light and soft that I have to check in the mirror while putting it on to make sure the pinch is centered or the brim just right, it moves with your touch , very soft.

Air Light

Late 1930's *******

Very light mauve, 2.25" brim. It does not have the stitched brim like Dinerman's. Also, Dinerman's does not have gold in the embossed sweatband logo, so I'm guessing his is a tad older?

Sorry, I wasn't clear- I meant the thickness of the leather itself, not of the sweatband.
My air-light has the thinnest leather of any sweatband I've ever run across. Is yours the same as a typical stetson sweatband or is it tissue-paper thin like mine?

Mine isn't that thin - it's as thin as my thinnest sweatbands, but not that unusual. Your pictures even make yours look extra-thin.

But the hat is still easily my lightest weight.

For what it's worth, my green one has no stitching around the edge of the brim but my natural colored one does. My green one is very obviously older so they must have come up with that row of stitching sometime in the '40s.

What are the typical dimensions of a *******? I realize the brim width can differ but is the crown height always the same? Also, how wide is the ribbon on these, 1 inch?

I don't know what's typical. For what it's worth, mine have 3/4 ribbons and 5 1/2 inch crowns.
