Hello everyone,
I am Jeff, looong-time lurker, finally a joiner. I have been wearing and owning hats for the past 35 years (long-time customer of @besdor - who I see no longer posts). After all this time I finally felt that I should look into restoring and refurbishing my old ones and those of friends and family. Long story short, once you start looking into that you look into acquiring more hats to refurbish (and wear). Mostly interested in dress fur and straw fedoras, I suppose one day I going to try making some in fur felt. I work in IT, but since I own the company I am no longer as hands-on as I was when I was starting out. Looks like my hands found their way to my hats. Wish me luck. Good to be here with you all.

Jeff
Welcome Jeff We look forward to seeing you post your hats.

New member, have lurked a bit and decided to join. Early 60s, retired, starting to get into hats for everyday wear. Have a couple of wool Stetsons, and received a nice Akubra felt from my wife for Christmas (Banjo Paterson).

edit - located northern Midwest, USA
Welcome aboard, I have just returned after years long hiatus!

Hi FL Members!

New member here, already on my journey to a nice hat collection - I've purchased 8 in the last 6 months! As you might imagine from my username, I'm partial to hats with cattleman creases, specifically OR and OR clones, but I do have a few western ranchers with regular brims in my collection - to go along with my boot collection. This forum introduced me to CDs, so I'm on the hunt for a couple of those (y'all are enablers, I tell ya!). Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to the FL community. I will enjoy reading your stories & viewing all your hats pics, and I will enjoy adding more hats to my collection & posting pics as well!

Cheers!

Hi to you all.

Allow me to introduce myself: I am Yang Forciori, a Brazilian native from the country’s northern region. I currently serve as a civil servant at a federal university, where I work as both a researcher and an analyst in computer science.

I consider myself a lifelong dilettante, having explored numerous pursuits over the years. At one time, I nurtured a profound appreciation for the classical guitar, which I taught for several years, followed by a period instructing in computer studies. My fascination with horology once took me to Switzerland, where I refined my watchmaking skills — enabling me to tend to my modest, though cherished, watch collection. I have similarly engaged in other passions, which I prefer not to detail, lest I appear immodest.

I am fond of cigars, pipes, philosophy, gentlemen’s fashion, and, of course, hats. In Brazil, it is rather uncommon to see individuals sporting hats, so it is particularly gratifying to discover a community that still appreciates this refined accessory.

I am most pleased to be at your service, and I extend my warmest regards to all of you, directly from Brazil.

P.S.: Kindly forgive any unintended missteps. My mother tongue is Portuguese.
Always good to have another Pipe smoking Hat guy here!

New member, here, and a transplant to the Alabama Gulf Coast. We call this area L.A. (meaning lower Alabama)

Looking forward to learning lots from everyone! In addition to the hats on my shelf, a nice 60's Open Road should be arriving at some point in June from that popular auction site. We'll see what shade of Silver Belly shows up.
