New Custom Jacket from Johnson Leathers

Hi Achee - thanks for the review which was very timely as I have been looking at JL for some time now and was coming here to do a search. By any chance did you look at or try on the MI-500 (m/c jacket with padding on elbows and shoulders)? I am curious to know the feel and the quality - in my size I would have to add $206 to the base price which puts it at just over $800 - so at that price there are many options out there but I've heard so many things about Johnson I would like to have one.

Achee - how would you compare the build quality? How would you compare the cxl leather they offer to other makers you're familiar with?

Similarly to your experience, I hadn't really considered JL b/c they webite and stock models were less than inspiring. I'm just starting my search and had been leaning towards aero but, naturally, I am attracted to the custom build option and the price here. Also, your jacket looks superb.

A good review of JL. I have always dealt with Alan, who is great to work with. They did a nice job on your jacket.

Never dealt directly with Johnson, but I do have a Johnson D pocket jacket I like very much which I bought second hand. I certainly would consider them again.
