That's interesting! Mendel's jacket is quite as a mouse!
Hey it might be a different steerhide type than the jackets I owned. All were from the early 2,000's and he may have made some alterations in the coating the factory used. I know the horsehide has improved in a number of ways in the last 10 years over some of the earlier LW's I acquired.

I’m reviving this older post because this is exactly what I was looking for; a comparison between the Lost Worlds Suburban vs. the Easy Rider. These are some excellent pictures!!! Thank you.

A first I was dead set on getting a Suburban. It got to the point where I told Stu to send me the work order, but then I stumbled on this thread. I started by asking Stu if he could make the following changes to the Suburban. 1) Add a wind flap -> Stu begrudgingly was agreeing to it for a substantial cost. 2) Add zippers to the hand warmer pockets -> Stu didn’t want to do it, so we agreed on snaps.

Then I stumbled on this thread and saw both jackets being worn and somewhat broken in. I immediately came to the realization that I was going to butcher the Suburban when the Easy Ryder has basically all the features I want minus a normal collar instead of the Mandarin collar. Stu is willing to put a normal collar on the Easy Ryder.

A few of the other things I noticed with the Suburban. It’s a much roomier fit, and I already have an Enfield which is way too big for me. Also, the sleeves seem pretty large, especially at the cuff, which doesn’t have a gusset, it’s just open. I guess that’s why there is a tab with a snap on the wrist.

So, this is how I avoided a costly mistake.

Lost Worlds is the best made in USA in my opinion, I have an A2 that’s pretty light and a Sub that’s really heavy, I broke it in by letting the shower run on it for quite a while, air dried it in the Rockies and it’s been perfect ever since
Just as good as Eastman & Aero for the most part
