I think it's a little bigger for his size. Consider using the savile row guys. They make suits that perfectly fits.
Again, what sense does a "bespoke" high-priced (compared to vintage) suit make for a 14-year old that will outgrow it within due time?
I would have been glad if my first suit (at 18) would have been a nice vintage one - plenty memorable and quality.
I too was surprised at it having two pockets.
