Modern trilby as a pseudo 1930s topper?

I am a lady with a giant noggin, and women’s hats both vintage and modern are far too small so my options are either to buy a men’s hat or make my own. Lately I have been coveting this modern trilby. With the feather it gets pretty close to sporty, even Tyrolean. There seem to be quite a few short brim women’s styles from the 1930s so I’m thinking that maybe I can get away with it. Any opinions?

You're right in style for the fall of 1940:
