I can't (or rather don't) cook, and don't claim to be cute, empowered, or hungry, but in debt to prepackaged foods, boiling water, and the microwave. Special shout out to Birdseye too.

My dad is a teriffic cook - he's taking a chefing course at the moment in fact. And nobody can make an Irish stew like my grandad. Will have to get that recipie off him someday...

When I was 10, my mom went back to college, and she told me that I could read, as she handed me a cookbook. She would pre-cut some things, so I didn't have to deal with knives, and off I went. By the time I was 15, I was cooking dinner pretty much every night. I worked in restaurants for a few years, where I picked up some good tips. I'm not a gourmet, but I can cook the heck out of southern foods and comfort foods. I'm not the best baker, but I'm passable.

All that restaurant work included stints as busboy and dishwasher, so I have the cleanup thing down pat.

My husband can cook hamburger helper (and it's a really good thing I like the vast majority of my food undervooked). It's nice when he does it, as it's a break for me, but I'd feel weird if he did it all the time, not to mention bored by eating.

I started teaching my 7 year old to cook. He "made" dinner tonight, standing on a chair, stirring the canned spahetti sauce, adding about half a can of garlic powder (because it needed "piazzaz") and popping bread into a toaster. Then made a huge mess out of the angel hair getting crunched to fit the pot. But he's learning since it seems cooking is quickly becoming a lost art out there. There are just as many women that can't cook as guy.

So my verdit here is: it's nice when they do it, but I like variety or less searing of the tastebuds from too much garlic.

I'm useless at cooking, (Once made muffins from a microwave oven and they all turned out like hard like a rubber balls) Oh you'll find me being able to clean up, wash/dry dishes but I've been pushed out many times, think ladies like to chit chat alone without males in the kitchen.

I allways do breakfast - bagels, tea, toast. sometimes omelet etc.
And 9 out of 10 evenings also makes dinner. And I like it!
Never actually learned it - it just came naturally.

As a matter of fact I once lived in a small appartment (rented) with only one hotplate. I managed to serve a 3 meal course for my comming wife on that with the help of a toaster and a lot of tinfoil. And creativity.
Guesse that's when I won her heart.
Thought about writing a cookbook for single men afterwards

Wifey and I have an arrangement that when she cooks I clean. And when I cook I clean[huh] . I can crack an egg one handed. Generally, I do a passable job in the kitchen. Where I go astray is when I get "creative". Mixed results usually. The kids always run screaming when they hear the wok being pulled out of the cabinet! My most impressive moment in the kitchen has to be the time I made a huge pancake, about 14" diameter. The Mrs. asked how I expected to flip it. "I'll toss it up" I says. "Horse Hockey" she says. Whereupon I tossed said flapjack into the air and caught it back in the pan completing a successful flippage . I then says "Don't just stand there, mouth agape. Fetch me my syrup, woman!" I like it when a man cooks for me. It is sweet and caring but I also like cook for him. I feel good when I can bring a smile to his a face with something that I put time and effort into.

I am with Lizziemaine a guy who can clean up afterwards especially without being asked is a keeper!

I love when a man can cook, because I can't cook at all! I sure can bake, but I scared of cooking with raw meat (I'm afraid I won't cook it right), and I get scared when I'm not cooking out of a box. Cooking is really overwhelming!

Luckily, I've got a boyfriend who can cook very well, and doesn't mind making me dinner once in awhile. Unfortunately for him, the one time I cooked dinner he ended up spending the night over the toilet! :eusa_doh:

I've started to cook almost all of my own meals for lunch. I try to make enough for about two days. Tonight I'll make some spinach linguine with a variation on a aglio olio sauce and also a salad with lots of veggies and some sliced up grilled chicken ******. I'm so tired of sandwiches and don't care for most of the places around my office building.

I can cook 1001 things, but they all include a frying pan and/or boiling water. Anything involving the oven has served much too time consuming and cleaning-dependent for the likes of single young men like myself.

However, one of my best friends, a man of my age, is a very good cook and quite passionate about it.

If we eat at home, it's usually something I've done. If I had more time, I'd do it constantly. It's fun if there's no pressure.

I love to cook. I enjoy getting into the kitchen and creating. I don't follow many recipes. I make it up as I go and come up with a lot of different recipes of my own. Most all my foods have Cajun seaonings in it. I don't use it to make foods hot, just for the flavor. I cook for my wife all the time.

It's definitely a turn on, I think it depends on the woman and how much of a hedonist/sensualist/foodie she is. Some women, like some men, just aren't that into food. But to someone that is... well, the ability to make beautiful, aromatic, perfectly cooked and prepared food is a huge plus.
