I'm in the champagne peanut gallery KY .
Sure. Anytime. BYO.Thanks for all the comments. I've decided to go with the champagne, mainly because I have (or I am on the verge of acquiring) several light colored hats with contrasting ribbons. Per Michael's suggestion, I'm also going with a 3/4" champagne ribbon for the brim binding, a la the Stetson Whippet; and I thought a bichrome accent strip on the bow would work nicely since the felt and ribbon colors match so closely.
Photos of the final creation to come shortly.
And I need to visit Bob so he can share some of his Cristal with me!
Nice choice, KY! I just made a similar ribbon color choice for my sand colored Gannon (post #724). I went for the 3/8" brim binding, but in retrospect I think the wider brim binding would have been great, too. Looking forward to seeing your finished hat. I'm delighted with mine, and I'm sure you'll love yours. Thanks for all the comments. Yes, I thought your hat turned out very well. IMHO, you made the right choice with thinner brim binding: I think it better compliments the thin ribbon you chose for the crown.Nice choice, KY! Belgian beer is the best! I'm planning a trip to Germany next spring, and I'm trying to figure out how I can work in a side trip to Belgium so I can indulge myself.Shall I bring the belgian beer?![]()
